The tags are held on to luggage securely with a metal cable. The ends thread together and you may want to check it periodically to be sure it’s not unthreading, although in my experience it’s never been a problem. I use the same cables to attach small gear to my backpack and they’ve always stayed put. A metal grommet keeps the cable from cutting through the silicone tag holder. This is the tag if you are concerned about privacy. Once you fill out the tag and slide it into the holder, the only information showing is your name. If you want to get to the rest of the information, you need to unscrew the cable and take the tag apart. I have mixed feelings about this. The more steps and difficulty to identify the luggage, the slower it’s going to get to you if the airline bag sticker is torn off and lost. It may seem petty, it’s not much trouble to take it apart but baggage handlers are dealing with 1000’s of pieces a day and if yours requires an extra minute or two, it may get set aside. Also, I could see a handler not realizing there’s more information hiding inside. Once it does get to the lost luggage handler, it should get the attention it needs. If it came to that. With 5 tags in this pack, don’t forget to attach one inside your luggage too, and your carry on.
