I get sick and tired of cleaning out the pleated filter all the time because it fills with dust and decreases the suction of my Shop Vac. I’m also not a big fan of having to turn my vac up-side-down and dump the contents into a garbage bag, which always slips off and dumps dirt on the floor or ground. It is so much easier and quicker to open it, pull the old bag and put a new one in. These are an awesome value and make it more affordable to pull the bag and toss it out.I do admit that I loose some suction using a bag, but not enough to matter. It’s still able to suck up saw dust and debris with ease. The difference shows after a week or two of use. Without using a bag, I would loose suction due to the filter being stopped up and have to clean it out to restore suction. With a bag, I can keep using it till it’s time to empty the bag, I don’t loose suction over time and I hardly ever have to clean my pleated filter.I have a 12 gallon Shop Vac with a 6 hp motor and these fit it just fine. The measurements they list are spot on and work great with this size Shop Vac. I couldn’t ask for a better deal on a set of six bags of this quality. The height and width are identical (40″ x 15″) however these bags measure ~4″ deep while the OEM bag measures ~7″ deep. I’m not overly concerned about the smaller volume because I tend to change bags well before they become full anyway.These bags are also lighter than the OEM bags, likely due to their smaller depth. The bag material feels similar to the OEM and never feels inferior in any way. The rubber sealing gasket has about the same elasticity as the OEM and fits tightly to the vacuum inlet. My initial impression of build quality is that these bags are as good if not slightly better than the OEM bags.Using a manometer, I measured essentially the same amount of vacuum for these bags vs the OEM bags.The OEM bags I’ve been purchasing locally cost $20 for 2. At the time of this review, these bags are $17 for 6, making them a fantastic value. I’m using it with a rigid but I knew for a fact the Shop-Vac brand uses the same style. Keep in mind you can also get away with using the slightly wrong size. I’m using these 10 to 14 gallon bags in a 16 gallon Shop-Vac and they work just fine. They filter well and make a good seal. Review: Just as a point of reference, my Shop-Vac is a 14 gallon model EA14-SQ550. It takes these Type I disposable filter bag #90672 that are made for the 10-14 gallon vacs.I only use this type filter when tackling very fine dust such as drywall sanding or wood ash in the fireplace. For those applications the filter bag is ideal. The installation is quite simple and spelled out right on the filter. When I’m done with the clean-up, just reverse the procedure and dispose of the bag. I like to keep the filter cartridge in place when using the filter bag as added filtration and protection. The filter bag does a great job of containing the mess.The price point for these six filters is very reasonable.
