The chair arrived well-packed, with surprisingly clear instructions, a nice little set of hardware sorted and arranged on a handy card (not a big jumbled bag of piece). It even comes with a tool for putting it together. Seamless. Assembly was straightforward. It took me about 30 minutes on my own. The parts are solid.The aesthetics are space-agey — but nothing crazy, and nothing that sacrifices comfort. The lumbar piece is comfortable, and is the right size for me. The seat cushion is thick, firm yet plush. I have no trouble sitting on it for hours at a time. I like the breathable mesh back — that’s something I have not had in an office chair before, and it’s a nice feature. The armrests flip up easily so I can tuck the chair under my desk, which is handy.So for the overall “vibe” — this is a good-looking chair. OK, on to the (relatively few) negatives: The adjustability is a bit limited, so if that’s important to you, this may not be your chair. For example: The height raises and lowers smoothly, but it may not be enough for some taller folks. There’s a rocker function with a simple tension adjustment, but you can’t fine-tune the recline angle. In other words you can’t lean back and then lock it in place.You also can’t adjust the lumbar height (but again, it’s placement is just fine for me, even with my touchy back). You can’t move the armrests too much — just up and down. But this does not impact me at all, I did not feel they were awkwardly positoned as-is. But it’s something you want to keep in mind if you are finicky about stuff like that.By the way, the armrests are hard plastic with no padding, I would have loved to see a little cushioning there. I think some of the options from this brand have a headrest option at a slightly higher price — this one does not. So keep that in mind if it’s something you’re looking for.Despite those comfort/style drawbacks or watch-outs, the build quality feels sturdy. The metal base is really solid and the wheels are quiet and rotate smoothly on my hardwood floors. .
