Title: May help for small spaces.
Review: This tower fan is a really nice fan and has the option to use it as a swamp cooler as well. It comes with ice packs you can freeze and add and it will help cool the air it blows. While it may help a little, there really wasn’t a noticeable difference. The fan itself is really nice. We used it as a fan for the most part. It has several nice features and the fact it can oscillate is really nice. We use it in a room that is attached to the house but it does not have any central heat or air. This fan helped move the cooler air from the main part of the house into the room. I did add ice and the ice packs several times to help cool the air a bit.

Title: Another beautiful product by DREO
Review: Boy, Dreo is a top notch company. I have multiple devices from them including but not limited to a Dehumidifier, a Air Circulating Fan and now I have this Evaporative Tower Air Cooler Fan from Dreo. It is incredible at what it was designed to do. And that is to cool an area. It’s got a water tank with a couple ice packs that you can freeze and then fill up with water and the fan itself has controls that you can turn off the water flow or the fan speeds adjusted. It doesn’t have any smart controls or voice controls however. It’s 40 inches tall so not large and not small but fairly big. It works amazingly. And it’s durable. The fan puts out a lot of air and it cools substantially.

Title: cools the air
Review: This is a neat floor fan. Your add water and ice packs to chill the water. It then produces a cooler air flow than what a regular fan does. This worked great for inside use. It is very easy to put together and start the process. It has different settings and a timer, but we just used the high speed. They can oscillate which is a nice addition. This works great in a bedroom as you are close to it. I highly recommend this to anyone that needs to cool their room down in the summer.

Title: Great tower Fan + Cooler, but not for me!
Review: Pros: It is a great fan, blows hard for its size and is whisper quiet. As a swamp cooler, it does help out on hot days indoors, if it’s dry heat. But even with the great air flow, it’s not suitable for outdoor use on hot dry days, as the cooling it achieves does not last past a few inches from its vent. Not taking any stars away for that as it is not rated for outdoor use. Props for a great fan design and very energy efficient operation.Cons: Indoor, it can cool on dry hot days, but if its humid heat, it just makes things worse. Swamp coolers work best if a window is open near the fan, to circulate fresh air through the fan into the room, while potentially venting out some of the humidity it adds while cooling. But I take a star off on this note, because the description mentions utilization of this cooler in combination with the home’s AC unit for optimum energy savings. It can not do it’s best work if the room is enclosed, and the AC won’t do its best work if a window is open. So I find this hard to believe that working the AC and this fan together can produce energy savings under any circumstances. If the window’s open, the AC will work harder, even if the fan performs better. If the window’s closed, the AC will have to deal with all the humidification and will work harder to dehumidify. Not getting into the thermodynamics (latent/sensible heat and how swamp coolers + AC is always a bad idea energy wise or comfort wise), but the recommendation to use this together with the AC for energy savings, that’s flat deceptive marketing, or an uninformed marketing team. Another con is that the water tank isn’t the easiest to clean.Value for money: I can not gauge the value for money of this product as I have seen many different Amazon listings of the same looking/functioning Dreo product, but with different model numbers and slightly different descriptions, but the same thing basically. The price on these listings swings from $89 to $189. I bought this for $155 and can’t justify the premium over the $89 model as it’s exactly identical. Got to ding another star for the confusion.Overall, keeping aside these constraints, it is a good quality unit, as a fan and as a swamp cooler. It will need maintenance as you don’t want to leave water stagnant in the tank, so some amount of cleaning is warranted. If mold/bacteria grows, that will be pumped into the mesh and blown into the room, that could, under unfortunate circumstances, cause illness. In conclusion, I returned my unit, hoping to replace it with the identical $89 model. But ultimately decided not to get another one at all. I think I will get a regular Dreo fan without swamp cooling, because the fan itself on this unit had the best airflow of all the tower fans I’ve owned, and it was simultaneously the quietest. A regular Dreo tower fan without the water mesh might blow even better, while being equally quiet; that sounds like a good idea!

Title: A tall floor fan with added bits to keep you cool.
Review: This is a very substantial tower fan. The fan has four speeds and a decent oscillation range of about a quarter of a turn (80 degrees). Inside is a reservoir, a pump, and a cooling grid. The pump pulls water from the reservoir and spills it through the cooling grid. The fan blows air through the grid, and if humidity and temperature are in the correct ranges, some heat energy is pulled out of the air. And when it’s hot enough, that energy removed could be a couple of degrees, and it feels terrific. Even when it’s not swamp-cooling, this is a robust room fan, but very quiet on the lowest setting. We use it much more as a simple fan, but when the cooling is needed, it’s great to have.
