Reviewer: Damian Castillo Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Perfection in design. Review: Best travel/home mug you will ever own.I own 7 Contigo mugs. The West Loop design is the superior version; I own 3 West Loops and 2 West Loop 2.0s.They keep warm drinks warm, and cold drinks cold, but I only use them as Coffee mugs. They don’t spill, the button release is genius, and both versions of the West Loop mugs have a locking function.I could not believe they could improve on the West Loop design until I received my two West Loop 2.0 versions. The design changes are small, but they make a huge impact, making this the best mug you could ever own.The threads on 2.0 are no longer recessed, which could capture some dirt in this area. The 2.0 cap release on the inside of the cap provides a wide area for easy cleaning with a brush and soap. The locking mechanism is smaller and out of your way. It’s perfection, and I expect to own the 2.0 versions for the many years I have owned the original versions which I am still using after 6 years.I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but “Contigo” means “With You” in Spanish, and you can certainly take these “With You” anywhere. You could throw it in a backpack or knock it over accidentally in a car and nothing spilled. Of course it keeps coffee or whatever hot four hours at a time.I decided to get a new newer one and researched all the different types of tops and. This particular top (which is similar to my older one) the best for me. It is airtight and spill proof until you squeeze the top button. Much easier to handle and leak proof compared to the yeti that I was given as a gift.Overall, from my point of view, it is as good as a thermos can get. Reviewer: HECJR Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: The fact that I own 3 of these mugs should say it all But Read the Review to Understand Why Review: As the title says the fact that I have owned 3 of these travel mugs shows my faith in them and I will tell you why I think they are better than that “other” brand name travel mug in the next paragraph but I think it important you understand my backstory with these mugs. The blue mug in my images is over 7 years old and was used almost every day for those 7 years with either hot or cold beverages. About 4 years ago I wanted a smaller version of this travel mug for specific occasions (mainly hot coffee) so you see that in my images too as basis for comparison between the older versions of these travel mugs and the newer versions. Finally, as you can see in my images the bottom cap of the larger blue mug came off (something they fixed/did away with in the latest model) and I could not get it to back on. Well this cup served me well, so I decided to replace it with the exact same brand of travel mug. When I went to Amazon I saw (in addition to the older versions) they had a new improved larger version which I decided to purchase. What I am telling about this newer travel mug reviewed here also applies to the older (smaller) versions which they still sell on Amazon. I still use my silver one (as seen in my images) as needed. Of Course, it goes without saying these travel mugs keep beverages COLD or HOT for exceeding long periods of time. In fact, you find cautions on the bottom of the mug and the inside of the top of the mug warning that hot beverages can cause burns. Another caution they give you is to leave the lid off the top for a couple of minutes to let hot beverages cool down a little (LoL). I find both hot and cold beverages last that way for longer periods (especially the hot ones) then I want them too. I would like to at least sip on my hot beverage within the 30 minutes LoL. I like (want) the fact that they have no handle. Handles tend to get in the way especially in car cup holders. These mugs are easy to grip and natural to drink from. The actual physical color of the mug means nothing to me. Of course, these travel mugs are high quality and I think all that I have laid out thus far proves that fact above and beyond. Finally, I want to speak to the positive drink lock these travel mugs contain that are absent in most travel mugs. (I would not buy one that did not possess this feature). This is an outstanding feature that if nothing else gives you piece of mind, but I believe it has saved me many times when I have accidently knocked over or dropped the mug. As you can see in my images in the new mug, they have moved this feature from the top of the lid to the side (next to the push to drink button). This is probably more efficient and effective, but I have not seemed to get the hang of it yet and I wish it stuck out a little longer to catch my thumb more easily. Reviewer: Benedict Retherford Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Never buying any other brand after this. Review: Literally the best coffee thermos I’ve ever used. Great quality, easy to clean the internals. It takes me a while to finish my coffee as I take small sips and this keeps it hot for hours. Stays hot long enough for me to finish my coffee at work and taking my time doing it. The best part is it never ever leaks. It has been knocked over too many times because I have kids and I can be clumsy. I never had to worry about it leaking on my carpet or anything. I’m even able to shake it upside down to mix its contents and nothing ever comes out. I use it daily and if I ever manages to wear out and break, I will be buying the exact some thing again because it’s that good! Reviewer: A.C. Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars Title: Leak-Proof and Keeps Drinks Hot, but Taller Than Expected Review: I’ve been using this Contigo West Loop travel mug daily, and it does a great job keeping drinks hot for hours. The AutoSeal lid works well—I’ve had no leaks in my bag, which is a big plus. The matte black finish looks nice and feels durable. The only thing that surprised me was the height. It’s a little taller than I expected, so it may not fit all cup holders. That aside, it’s a solid, well-made travel mug that’s easy to use and dependable for everyday drinks. Reviewer: PG Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Excellent coffee thermos. Review: I have used this for 4 months and it is BY FAR the best thermos Ive ever used. Its even superior to some of their lower tier options. What has me sold is, I brew coffee at 7am, and at 4pm it is still HOT. Not warm. Hot to the point steam is still escaping. Im extremely impressed with this Contigo. As a bonus, it is very secure. I had an incident with another thermos where it spilled all over my backpack. This version is spill proof (if you make sure everything is fasted correctly). I flip it upside down to test it before putting it in my bag. Reviewer: M. Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Review: I have spent many hours researching travel mugs, so I could finally have a leak free hot latte every morning when I commute to work. This was the winner. With this leak free AUTO SEAL mechanism , a Mercedes of coffee mugs. It was expensive too, minimum £25 so I decided to wait an order one on AMAZON US half the price including the delivery . I even ordered extra one for my partner. While I was waiting I bought a budget HIWILL Double Walled Vacuum Insulated Travel Coffee Mug, for ten pounds. I chose the smaller size for my son and was using it while waiting for Contigo. Yes it was too small for a large latte but leak proof and hot for hours!!! When contigo 2.0 arrived it was impressive but heavy. The auto seal works well and it’s easy to clean. It’s bigger than Hiwill but that’s what I wanted, Unfortunately coffee loose the temperature very quickly. Having been using the hiwill I could feel huge difference. No more hot coffee on my desk when I arrive to work. So disappointed….I am considering sending them back , but it will be to US … UPDATE: After few hit and misses with latte temperature and rinsing the cup with boiling water to make it hot I have no issues with the right temperature for at least 3 hours ! A win! Reviewer: Linda V. Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Review: Very good thermos. I have two smaller ones same version! Love’em Reviewer: Sergio Alberto López Estrada Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Review: Mi marca favorita de termos. Son relativamente baratos y duran muchísimo. Reviewer: ボブ Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Review: 小さいの使ってましたが、このサイズは丁度良いです。飲み口の洗浄も楽で、やっぱりこのスタイルが一番良いです。 Reviewer: P. Harling Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars Title: Review: These are good mugs. We have no issues with leaks, even though they have gone through the dishwasher dozens of times.I understood I was buying travel mugs, not a thermos. I use them in the car and occasionally outdoors especially in winter when I want a warm coffee with me. I do not toss them inside a backpack laying on their side and it didn’t occur to me this was something they are intended for. I noticed many people are using them as a thermos. I am not sure that’s the intention of this design. If was bringing coffee or tea etc to work with me with the intention of drinking it hours later, I’d be buying a proper thermos. Mainly for leak proofing, and better thermal function. These are excellent travel mugs. Right now, the price is insane. I see a $20 mug. That’s what I paid the first time I bought these. After I lost one, I bought two more at a painful $25 each. Now they want $70 + tax for a pair, which is ridiculous. I just looked at a full size new lawnmower with a gasoline powered engine and it’s $300. Yet a couple of travel mugs are $70? Uh-huh.
