Review: After using a ChangBERT induction cooktop for years, buying a second one felt like an easy decision. The first one has been incredibly sturdy and reliable for cooking in the backyard, which is exactly why I wanted another one for everyday use.I have been using the newer model for the past 3 months and it is as reliable and easy to use as the older model. What I love the most about it is its larger heating area, making it much better suited for larger pots and pans. It can heat a tall soup pot evenly all the way around, and it allows a wide pan of potatoes to brown consistently. I also appreciate the predictable, stable temperature control. When I turn it down, the heat settles calmly instead of fluctuating. Overall, this delivers excellent performance for the price and is a great complement to my older unit. The induction power is small (seems to be about 6 inches) but that is to be expected on 110volt outlet. The front panel is one of the best layouts I’ve encountered – simple to use and easy to clean. Glass surface is easy to clean. Comes with a nicely thick power cord. Easy to roil boil in an 8-inch pan or less. I placed a 12 inch pot and filled with about 2 gallons of water…not enough umph for that to roiling boil. So, assuming light duty use, this is near perfect! Temp control is excellent. The skillet had toasted the sandwich fast enough that the skillet handle never got hot…unbelievable. Of course, given time, the handle will get hot, but this cooktop is fast. The unit is not particularly noisy during operation, only the soft purr of its cooling fan/s and the quality of the unit appears to be top-notch. No more standing with my back to the family while I cook. We keep it out on the kitchen island.Warm feature is superb. Vent the lid a little even though the lid has a vent hole that way moisture buildup won’t occur on the cooktop. (Instructions about that were from ChangBert email. )I baked a browned roast with veggies and a cup of liquid at 300 for 4 hours with lid ON in the oven. Easy to use, excellent temperature choices, It tells you when it’s no longer hot. Big bright numbers. All very attractive. Easy to clean.
