Review: I give this set five stars without hesitation. It is absolutely worth the 60 dollars and if you can find it for less that is even better. This LEGO Super Mario Game Boy set is peak nostalgia and it brings a surprising amount of joy while building it.The build is engaging and satisfying from start to finish and it feels like a love letter to classic Nintendo. It easily stands out as one of the best LEGO sets released in 2025. Every detail feels thoughtful and true to the original Game Boy look.After finishing the build you might even want to check out Build a Boy or Brick Boy projects which let you turn this LEGO model into a fully functional Game Boy style device. Even without that extra step this set is an amazing display piece and a must have for LEGO and Nintendo fans alike.

Title: Nostalgia in a box. Great collectors item for Xennials/Older Millennials.
Review: This Lego set was fun to put together. The age suggests 18+, but this could be put together by any age group, adults or kids. I like the fact that all of the controls (D-pad, A and B buttons, Start/Select buttons, Volume, Contrast, and On\Off Switch) were all able to be pressed/toggled. The lenticular screens added a great touch and the fact that you can switch out the display and the game cartridges is pretty awesome. It even comes with buildable display stands for both the Gameboy and one game (the other game can be stored in the Gameboy). It would be cool if Lego made an expansion to add more screens and game cartridges (hint, hint, Lego!).

Review: Super cool set. $50 range which would be average. Great gift for a gamer who appreciates old school and likes lego. Looks good on a shelf. Easy to build in age range and instructions are clear. No missing pieces and size is great.

Review: I had a fabulous time building this and it’s definitely one of the coolest sets I have. Super fun and nostalgic! Definitely worth it. This is a pretty simple build and was really interesting the way they build it up in layers like the inside of an actual game.

Title: Perfect Portable 8-bit Nostalgia
Review: Incredible build on this set. Lego really knocked it out of the park with this set.First, the design harkens back to the original 1989 Gameboy, it’s almost a like-for-like in dimensions and size. The color scheme is great, the use of printed pieces over stickers is a great detail (note: there are some stickers in this set).Second, the attention to detail in this set, with two game cartridges and replaceable screens adds a great retro vibe. The stand makes it a great addition to an office decor. The inclusion of one of my all time favorite games (Zelda: Links Awakening) was a perfect, bravo Lego!As someone who grew up with the original Gameboy and an adult fan of Lego (AFOL), this was an immediate purchase. One of the best part of this set is the price, it seems that so many Lego sets these days are over $100, especially licensed ones. And at $60 this set is a “must buy” in my opinion and one of the best sets released this year or even in the past few years. Don’t wait on it!

Review: Bought several of these for Christmas gifts and everyone loved them. Such a cool build if you love Lego and old video game systems. The “screen” comes out so you can change it to match the game in the back and it makes slight movements. Really fun. It looks exactly like the old Game Boy. Highly recommend this one!!
