1. Arrival and The Space Walk

We arrived in Pohang with zero expectations, just ready to explore. Our first major stop was the famous Space Walk. The structure looks like a rollercoaster made of stairs! Walking up there offered amazing views, although the winding unique staircases (some blue, some looping) were quite a workout. We already clocked in over 23,000 steps just exploring the area. It’s a must-visit photo spot, but be prepared for a bit of a climb!

2. Windy Weather and Taxi Mishaps

The weather was incredibly windy—classic autumn vibes with leaves falling, but maybe a bit too intense for a 4-hour walk. We originally planned to hike along the coast, but the wind was so strong we decided to take a taxi. However, the driver didn’t seem to know the area well and dropped us off at a random spot in the countryside! It turned into an unexpected adventure of walking an extra 500 meters to find our way, but the rural scenery was actually quite peaceful.

3. Homigot Sunrise Square & Seagull Attack

We finally made it to Homigot Sunrise Square, famous for the “Hand of Harmony” statue rising out of the sea. It is truly a “seagull paradise”—there were hundreds of them! Unfortunately, my friend learned this the hard way when a seagull decided to use her shirt as a target. It was a chaotic but hilarious moment. Despite the wind and the birds, watching the waves crash against the hand statue was mesmerizing.

4. Ocean View Cafe and Cheap Eats

To escape the wind, we found a cozy cafe with a stunning ocean view. It looked questionable from the outside, but the interior was warm and the coffee was perfect for the weather.

For food, we tried some unique “Devil’s Taste” pizza with a rich cream cheese flavor. We ended the trip back at the Pohang Bus Terminal, grabbing a surprisingly cheap and delicious sushi dinner (10 pieces for around 5,800 won!) and some Greek yogurt from GS25 before heading home.
